Link Your Domain to Google Blogger
If you have a Blogger website and want to use your own custom domain, follow this guide to configure DNS records.
Step 1: Add A Records
Add four A records pointing your root domain to Google Blogger servers:
- 216.239.32.21
- 216.239.34.21
- 216.239.36.21
- 216.239.38.21
Step 2: Add www CNAME
Add a CNAME record: www pointing to ghs.google.com
Step 3: Get Verification CNAME from Blogger
- Go to blogger.com > Settings > Publishing > Custom domain
- Enter www.yourdomain.co.tz
- Click Save - you will see an error with a verification CNAME
- Add that CNAME in DNS Manager
- Wait 5-15 minutes and try again in Blogger
Step 4: Enable HTTPS
In Blogger Settings, toggle HTTPS availability and HTTPS redirect to Yes. Google will provision a free SSL certificate.
Step 5: Redirect Root Domain
Enable Redirect domain in Blogger Publishing settings.
Nameservers
Ensure your domain uses: ns5.sakurahost.co.tz and ns6.sakurahost.co.tz
Troubleshooting
- Cannot verify authority - wait 15-30 mins for DNS propagation
- Site not loading - check all 4 A records are added
- HTTPS not available - can take up to 24 hours
