A default, parked or "IP address changed" page means your domain still points to a server that does not host your site. Update the DNS to point to the right place.

Overview

When a domain has an A record to a shared server but no website is set up for it there, the server shows a default page. The same happens when an old record is still cached.

Why it happens

  • The domain still has an old A record from before you moved the site.
  • The domain points to hosting that has no website added for this domain name.
  • Your device or network still holds the old address.

What it means

The domain is reaching a server, just not the right one or not the right site. Fix the record, or add the domain to your hosting account, and the correct site appears.

How to fix it

  1. Check where the domain should point: your hosting, Netlify, Blogger or another platform.
  2. Open DNS Records and set the A and CNAME records to that platform's values.
  3. If the site is on SakuraHost hosting, make sure the domain is added in cPanel as a domain or addon domain.
  4. Wait a short while and test on another network: domain not working after a DNS change.
  5. Still showing the default page? Open a ticket with the domain name and where you want it to point.
