Accessing your SakuraHost email on your phone, tablet, or desktop email client ensures you never miss an important message. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring your email on iPhone (iOS Mail), Android (Gmail app), and Microsoft Outlook.

Email Server Settings

Before configuring any device, you will need the following server details. Keep these handy as you follow the instructions below:

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP - Recommended)
Server: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS
Username: your full email address (e.g., info@yourdomain.co.tz)

Incoming Mail Server (POP3 - Alternative)
Server: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
Port: 995
Security: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
Server: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
Port: 465
Security: SSL/TLS
Authentication: Required (same username and password)
IMAP vs POP3: We strongly recommend using IMAP as it keeps your emails synchronized across all devices. POP3 downloads emails to a single device and removes them from the server, which means other devices will not see those messages.

Setting Up Email on iPhone (iOS)

Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap Mail (or Mail, Contacts, Calendars on older iOS versions).

Step 3: Tap Accounts > Add Account.

Step 4: Select Other at the bottom of the list.

Step 5: Tap Add Mail Account.

Step 6: Enter your details:
Name: Your display name (e.g., John Doe)
Email: Your full email address
Password: Your email password
Description: A label for this account (e.g., Work Email)

Step 7: Tap Next. Select IMAP at the top.

Step 8: Under Incoming Mail Server:
• Host Name: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
• Username: your full email address
• Password: your email password

Step 9: Under Outgoing Mail Server:
• Host Name: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
• Username: your full email address
• Password: your email password

Step 10: Tap Next and then Save. iOS will verify the settings and complete the setup.
Certificate Warning: If you see a certificate warning, tap Trust or Continue. This occurs when using the mail.yourdomain.co.tz hostname. To avoid this, you can use the server's hostname directly (available in your cPanel welcome email).

Setting Up Email on Android (Gmail App)

Step 1: Open the Gmail app on your Android device.

Step 2: Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-left corner.

Step 3: Tap Settings > Add account.

Step 4: Select Other from the account type list.

Step 5: Enter your full email address and tap Next.

Step 6: Select Personal (IMAP).

Step 7: Enter your email password and tap Next.

Step 8: Configure the incoming server settings:
• Server: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
• Port: 993
• Security type: SSL/TLS

Step 9: Tap Next and configure outgoing server:
• SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
• Port: 465
• Security type: SSL/TLS
• Require sign-in: Enabled

Step 10: Tap Next, configure sync preferences, and complete the setup.

Setting Up Email in Microsoft Outlook (Desktop)

Step 1: Open Microsoft Outlook.

Step 2: Go to File > Add Account.

Step 3: Enter your email address and click Advanced options. Check Let me set up my account manually.

Step 4: Click Connect, then select IMAP.

Step 5: Enter the IMAP settings:
• Incoming server: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
• Port: 993
• Encryption: SSL/TLS

Step 6: Enter the SMTP settings:
• Outgoing server: mail.yourdomain.co.tz
• Port: 465
• Encryption: SSL/TLS

Step 7: Enter your password and click Connect.

Step 8: Outlook will test the connection and confirm when setup is complete.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Authentication failed: Double-check your full email address and password. Try logging into webmail at yourdomain.co.tz/webmail to confirm credentials work.
  • Connection timed out: Verify the port numbers (993 for IMAP, 465 for SMTP) and ensure SSL/TLS is selected.
  • Cannot send emails: Ensure SMTP authentication is enabled and you are using port 465 with SSL/TLS.
  • Emails not syncing: Confirm you selected IMAP, not POP3. POP3 does not sync across devices.
