Connect Your Email to Gmail

Send and receive your custom domain emails directly from Gmail

Before you begin: Make sure you have your email address, password, and mail server hostname ready. You can find these in cPanel under Email Accounts > Connect Devices.

What You Need

  • Your email address (e.g. info@yourdomain.co.tz)
  • Your email account password
  • A Gmail account

Step 1: Find Your Email Settings

Log in to billing.sakurahost.co.tz and navigate to cPanel > Email Accounts. Click Connect Devices next to your email address.

Outgoing (SMTP) ServerSame as incoming server
SMTP Port465 (SSL)
UsernameYour full email address

Step 2: Add Your Email to Gmail (Receiving)

1 Open Gmail and click the gear icon in the top right corner, then click See all settings.
2 Go to the Accounts and Import tab.
3 Under Check mail from other accounts, click Add a mail account.
4 Enter your full email address (e.g. info@yourdomain.co.tz) and click Next.
5 Select Import emails from my other account (POP3) and click Next.

Fill in the settings:
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Password: Your email account password
  • POP Server: Your server hostname from Step 1
  • Port: 995
  • Check Always use a secure connection (SSL)
  • Optionally check Label incoming messages to keep them organized
7 Click Add Account.

Step 3: Send Email As Your Domain (Sending)

1 After adding POP3, Gmail will ask Would you also like to send mail as this address? Select Yes and click Next.
2 Enter your display name and click Next.

Fill in the SMTP settings:
  • SMTP Server: Your server hostname from Step 1
  • Port: 465
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Password: Your email account password
  • Select Secured connection using SSL
4 Click Add Account.
5 Gmail will send a verification code to your email. Check your email via Webmail to get the code.
6 Enter the verification code and click Verify.

Step 4: Set as Default (Optional)

To make your custom domain the default sending address in Gmail:

  1. Go to Gmail Settings > Accounts and Import.
  2. Under Send mail as, click make default next to your custom email address.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
Connection timed out Contact support to whitelist Gmail on the server firewall.
Authentication failed Double-check your full email address and password. Reset the password in cPanel if needed.
Certificate warning Use the server hostname shown in cPanel rather than your domain name.
Emails not arriving in Gmail Gmail checks POP3 periodically (every few minutes). For instant delivery, consider email forwarding in cPanel instead.
