Creating your SakuraHost account is the first step toward building your online presence in Tanzania. This guide provides a detailed walkthrough of the registration process, account verification, and initial configuration of your SakuraHost client area. The entire process takes less than five minutes.

Before You Begin

To register for a SakuraHost account, you will need the following information ready:

  • Valid email address — This will be your primary login and the address where all account notifications are sent. We recommend using a permanent email address you check regularly.
  • Phone number — A Tanzanian mobile number (starting with +255) is preferred for account verification and support communication.
  • Personal or business details — Your full name, company name (if applicable), and physical address.
  • Strong password — At least 8 characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters. The Google password guidelines offer excellent advice on creating secure passwords.

Step-by-Step Registration Process

Step 1: Navigate to the Registration Page

Open your web browser and go to billing.sakurahost.co.tz/register.php. You can also reach this page by clicking the "Register" or "Sign Up" button on the main sakurahost.co.tz website or anywhere within the client area.

Step 2: Fill in Your Personal Information

Complete the registration form with your details:

  • First Name & Last Name — Enter your legal name as it appears on official documents.
  • Company Name — Optional but recommended for business accounts. This will appear on your invoices.
  • Email Address — Double-check this field. A typo here means you won't receive your welcome email or account credentials.
  • Phone Number — Enter your mobile number in international format: +255XXXXXXXXX.
Step 3: Enter Your Address Details

Provide your physical address information:

  • Address Line 1 — Your street address or P.O. Box number.
  • City — e.g., Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Dodoma, Mwanza.
  • State/Region — Your region within Tanzania.
  • Postcode — Enter your postal code if available, or use 00000.
  • Country — Select "Tanzania" from the dropdown list.
Step 4: Set Your Password

Choose a strong, unique password for your account. Your password must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters in length
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
  • Contains at least one lowercase letter (a-z)
  • Contains at least one number (0-9)
  • Contains at least one special character (!@#$%^&*)

We strongly recommend using a password manager like Bitwarden or 1Password to generate and store complex passwords securely.

Step 5: Complete Registration

Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy by clicking the respective links. Check the agreement box, complete any CAPTCHA verification if prompted, and click the "Register" button to create your account.

Google Sign-In: SakuraHost also supports Google OAuth for faster registration and login. Click the "Sign in with Google" button on the login or registration page to link your Google account. This eliminates the need to remember a separate password.

After Registration: Email Verification

Immediately after registering, SakuraHost sends a verification email to the address you provided. Here is what to do:

  1. Check your inbox for an email from SakuraHost (sender: noreply@sakurahost.co.tz or similar).
  2. If you don't see it within 5 minutes, check your Spam or Junk folder.
  3. Click the verification link in the email to confirm your account.
  4. You will be redirected to the client area login page.
Did not receive the email? If the verification email doesn't arrive within 15 minutes, try logging into your client area at billing.sakurahost.co.tz — you may be prompted to resend the verification email. Alternatively, open a support ticket and our team will assist you.

Configuring Your Profile

Once verified and logged in, we recommend completing your profile setup:

Update Contact Information

Navigate to Hello, [Your Name] > My Details in the client area. Verify that all your contact information is accurate. This information is used for:

  • Invoice generation and billing correspondence
  • Domain registration WHOIS data (for domains registered through SakuraHost)
  • Support ticket communication
  • Account recovery in case you lose access

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

For enhanced security, enable 2FA by going to Hello, [Your Name] > Security Settings. You will need an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Authy on your smartphone. Scan the QR code displayed on screen, enter the generated code, and 2FA will be active on your account.

Set Communication Preferences

Under your profile settings, you can configure which types of notifications you wish to receive, including:

  • Billing and invoice notifications
  • Service status alerts and maintenance windows
  • Promotional offers and new service announcements
  • Security alerts and login notifications

Your First Order

With your account set up, you're ready to place your first order. Visit the order page to browse available hosting plans. If you need help choosing, our guide How to Choose the Right Hosting Plan for Your Business in Tanzania provides a thorough comparison of all options.

After placing an order, you will receive an invoice via email. Pay using any of our supported methods — M-Pesa, Airtel Money (Mixx by Yas), TTCL Pesa (Selcom), or CRDB bank transfer — through the SakuraPay payment gateway. Services are activated automatically upon payment confirmation.

Troubleshooting Registration Issues

Common Problems and Solutions

  • "Email already registered" — This means an account already exists with that email. Use the password reset feature to recover access.
  • CAPTCHA not loading — Clear your browser cache, disable ad blockers temporarily, or try a different browser. Google's reCAPTCHA troubleshooting page can help with persistent issues.
  • Page not loading — Ensure you are visiting the correct URL: billing.sakurahost.co.tz (not sakurahost.co.tz, which is the main marketing site).

If you encounter any issues during registration that you cannot resolve, don't hesitate to contact our support team. See SakuraHost Support: How to Get Help and Submit Tickets for all available contact methods. We are here to make your onboarding as smooth as possible.
