To point a SakuraHost domain at a Vercel project, add the A and CNAME records that Vercel shows for your project in your DNS.
Overview
Vercel serves your app and SakuraHost holds your domain and its DNS. Vercel tells you the exact records after you add the domain to your project.
Why it happens
- Vercel only serves the site on your domain once it can see the records pointing to it.
What it means
When the records are right, your app opens on your domain with HTTPS. Always copy the values from your Vercel dashboard, because they can differ per project.
How to fix it
- In Vercel open your project, go to Settings, then Domains, and add your domain.
- Vercel lists the records it needs. Copy them exactly.
- In the SakuraHost client area open the domain and choose DNS Records.
- Add the A record for the root domain and the CNAME for
wwwas Vercel shows them. A commonly used pair is an A record to76.76.21.21and a CNAME tocname.vercel-dns.com, but use what your dashboard says. - Keep existing MX and TXT records so email is not affected.
- Return to Vercel and wait for the domain to show as valid.
