When a mailbox is full, new email is rejected. Delete large messages, empty Trash and Spam, or add storage, and the mailbox starts receiving again.
Overview
Each mailbox has a storage limit: 5 GB on Email Starter, 25 GB on Business and 100 GB on Enterprise. Attachments fill it quickly.
Why it happens
- Large attachments, old messages and the Trash and Spam folders take space.
- Mail apps keep everything on the server when set to IMAP.
What it means
A full mailbox bounces incoming mail, so senders see an error and you miss messages. Clear space as soon as you can.
How to fix it
- Open webmail, sort by size and delete the biggest messages you no longer need.
- Empty the Trash and Spam folders.
- Download old mail to your computer, then delete it from the server.
- Check usage in cPanel under Email Accounts: email quotas and storage.
- Need more room? Open a ticket about moving to a larger plan.

Frequently asked questions
Will I lose mail if I do nothing?
Senders get a bounce, so messages may not reach you. Free space quickly.
Can I get more storage for one mailbox?
Ask support. A larger plan gives more storage per mailbox.
